Image: Completely unrelated to the school, but I’m really pleased with this shot I took at the Red Bull Air Race in April.

Last year, Deanmore Primary School created a magnificent journal of students’ work capturing the thoughts and prayers of our school community for Flowerdale Primary School that was devastated by the Victorian Black Saturday bush fires in February 2009. Deanmore has a spiritual link with Flowerdale as they were the inaugural 2007 winners of the The Australian Women’s Weekly Paradise Foods P&C Award that Deanmore won in 2008.
This week Deanmore principal Ms Jeanette Metcalfe received a delightful letter from Flowerdale principal Ross Davis on behalf of their school community, thanking our school for the gesture and giving us a glimpse of the tremendous challenges they have faced over the past 14 months. Jeanette has kindly passed the letter on to us to allow us to share it with the whole community.
