Deanmore P&C - New School
On the 7th August 2008, $14.25m funding was approved by the State Government to build a new school to replace Deanmore Primary School, on the same site. Planning and design took most of 2009 and construction commenced over the 2009-10 summer break. The new school is due to be completed for occupancy in term 4 2010. During the 2010-11 summer break, the old school will be demolished and the ground will become the new school oval.
The image below is a computer generated rendering of the final design by the architects Edgar Idle Wade (reproduced here with their permission). The view is looking south-west, with the administration block on the left (at a 45 degree angle to the other buildings) and the edge of the new oval (where the current school is situated) on the extreme right.

Construction is well underway with earthworks forming the bulk of the activity to date. This is what the site looked like on 26 February 2010 looking north-east, with the southern block of the current (old) school visible in the background (left).
