Deanmore P&C - Safety House
The Safety House Program is an organised, preventative method of protecting children. The program is community-based and its aim is to provide a safer environment for children in transit to and from school. This is achieved through establishing a network of Safety Houses in an area where children can go if they require help or protection. It acts as a deterrent to undesirable people coming into an area and approaching children whilst they are by themselves. There are currently 12 registered Safety Houses in the Deanmore Primary School catchment area. Each house can be identified by the Safety House logo (see right) displayed prominantly on the letterbox. The approximate location of each safety house is marked by a yellow triangle in the map below.
The Safety House Association of W.A. Inc. manages the Safety House Program on a state wide basis. For more information about the program, please consult the association’s web site (http://www.safetyhousewa.org.au/) Last modified: 07 August 2007, 01:17 PM WST (+0800) |
